  i see many threads that address this issue, but i still don't have a clear thought on this.

  so i want your help.. the governing body misleads the members- no doubt.

  they do change some of their history to make the wt organization look smarter or better-guided by "jehovah.

  Perhaps for a different reason that DNCall posted, I saw something there. From having elders' meetings where we prayed for Holy Spirit, I get this. We prayed, then we assumed that our own opinion was "blessed." If Jehovah allowed us to continue feeling a certain way after praying, we felt that Jehovah gave us that feeling. I can imagine the GB members doing that. When a newbie or someone with a conscience speaks up about the manipulating and deceiving of members, they say "We prayed over it, Jehovah still allowed us to think it was a good idea."

  Good explanatory insight to the psychology of the GB members !

  God is backing this organization because we prayed for his support, essentially he's perceived as a one of the members of the group,

  but of course an invisible one. All relgiuos orgaizations like this preceive that god is backing them with his full support though.

  Captive duped slaves duping others, maybe for the benefit of themselves, maybe not.

  The past deceit and corruption of this organization is acknowledged fact, call it cruel exploition or whatever

  but this was the prime reason Ray Franz left , he just couldn't stand it any more, probably the same reason why many of us left as well.

  Maybe his lying statement at the end of the trial was put forth to protect the face of the god's earthly organization.

  JWS are truly twisted fucked up psychotics on many levels, I've met a few who had little respect for governments

  of the land because they are of Satan's control and are soon to be destroyed.

  a couple years back i read posts re the lack of windows in the kh.

  i think at the time i was still so close to the situation that i thought it was a bit extreme and surely it couldn't be anything like it was being made out to be: conspiracy on the part of the organization.. flash forward to recent days.

  The no window situation may be different from one region to another depending also who are on the building committees.

  Does it really matter what they look like , whats more important is what is going on inside those halls isn't ?

  Homicide detectives are trained on crime scenes that have been purposely set up.

  This one particular case most likely started to look like a set up and it progressed as the investigation continued.

  When there is a crime pre-mediated such as a murder there usually is evidence to support it around the place of the crime itself and

  people closely associated with the victim.

  Another possibility what may have happened is he hired someone to do the killing promising the killer with

  a large amount of money after the life insurance is collected.

  There was a lot of circumstantial evidence in the case that was against Jarka and that was what convicted him.

  3 different life insurance policies, an supposed burglary attack in the early morning etc.

  The guy looks like he was doing an acting job for the get go.

  I am seriouly disapointed in the Watchtower society

  i can scarcley believe my eyes.

  i read in another thread about c. t. russells attitude that his 'studies in the scriptures' is better than the bible and come to the conclusion they are not god abandoned today, god was never there.. fast forward to modern times and they are still at it, likening their body of teachings as being part of the bible.. most of you already know the pasages in their own lit that i refer to, i'm just stating my feelings as i dismantle a 38 year old belief system.. it seems to me, that all along, the belief of the watchtower society is this: our writings are true, they are backed up by the bible.

  rather than, the bible is true, backed up by our writings.. disapointed.

  It was a successful venter in a business sense, with millions of copies of each works being distributed.

  Absolutely BlackSwan, the ones where I live now look like the inside of a community conference hall, a place similar to

  where labor unions would meet to work on contract negotiations.

  A lack of devotional spirituality of an atmosphere.

  What's Your View on Tipping?

  typically, i give at least 20% on my total bill.

  if the service or the waitress is especially charming, maybe more.. i wonder, when you sit at a bar/restaurant and have a meal and drinks and then order a take out ( i do this for my mother quite often) are you supposed to tip on everything, including the takeout??.

  when i stay in a hotel, i typically leave 2 or 3 dollars per day for the maid.

  The rule for myself is tip low if the quality of service or product is poor, if the service was just OK I'll tip accordingly

  and if the service was exceptional I usually tip very well.

  There are numerous reasons why KHs don't usually have windows, at least not the newly built ones.

  1 they're are easier and quicker to build at a lower cost by JWs who are not carpenters

  2 the buildings themselves don't look like a church from Christendom, something thats an unspoken agenda

  3 windows might distract members by looking out of them rather than paying attention to what is being said on stage

  4 a no window building is more secure, less prone to vandalism

  5 in colder climates windows are energy inefficient, which costs the congregation more to heat

  My old congregation had plenty of windows on both sides with curtains to give a nice pleasant comfortable atmosphere

  When they renovated a few years a go, they closed off all the windows, removed the incandescent lighting and installed

  bright fluorescent lighting in the ceilings which made for very cold stark environment within the hall itself.

  The ironic thing too was they raised the roof with a high pitch which looks very similar to what a common church looks like.
